One of the main benefits of cold process soap making is having complete control over ingredients. This is why we chose this process. Like all of our Scrubba products, we are very particular about what goes into them. Cold process soap has no added detergents, which strip the skin of its natural oils and can cause allergic reactions. Additional ingredients are also added to increase the skin loving benefits, like oats, kaolin and a bunch of other botanicals. Depending on the ingredients you use, cold process soap making typically yields a long-lasting bar of soap.
Cold process soaps are better for the environment, healthier for the skin and can be made incredibly moisturising with limitless designs and recipes. The only limit is your creativity.
Silky smoothness is a hallmark of cold-processed soap. This is primarily due to the olive oil base, a luxury that is practically unheard of in big name bars. Another advantage of utilising pure vegetable oils like coconut oil is that you can guarantee a rich lather.
Your skin will benefit from washing with cold-processed soap produced from organic components. Synthetic-ingredient soaps deplete your skin's natural oils. Skin feels soft and moisturised after washing with Scrubba Body natural cold processed soap.
Patience is a virtue. Cold process requires an super long 6-8 weeks curing time to complete the entire process, the longer the better. (Yep, our soaps DO get better with age!) That explains why they are more expensive than other types of handmade soap, but when you’re doing something, you might as well do it the best and we really think our soaps are the best!

In last weeks’ blog we talked about the amazing benefits of regularly practicing gratitude; Improved mental & physical health, self-esteem boosting, relationship building. There isn’t one, simple way of practicing gratitude that is going to work for everyone (well, we haven’t found it yet). But here are the ways that have been working for our team & hopefully you’ll find a few that suit you too.
According to research, practicing gratitude as a kind of self-care is one approach to achieve a healthier, less-stressed life. Regular expressions of thankfulness have been linked to improved optimism, better sleep, fewer physical ills, and lower levels of anxiety and depression.
Here are a few reasons to get your mind and body in the zone for more positive thoughts;
With its creamy texture and natural sweetness, coconut milk tastes like it should be bad for you. And yet, it's anything but! And did you realise that coconut milk isn't really "milk" at all? It is a liquid that is naturally present in mature coconuts and is kept inside the "meat" of the coconut. Coconut water is the liquid that comes out when a fresh coconut is cracked open. However, the coconut "meat" becomes a thicker coconut "milk" when it is blended and strained.
But why do we love it so much!? For the skin benefits of course. Check out some of the reasons that make our Coconut Bath Milk one of our favourite (and most popular) products that we make!
