Together4Teal (T4T) is a grassroots fundraising initiative led by women from Lake Macquarie and Newcastle. Each year, the team hosts the Together4Teal Ladies Day to raise vital funds for ovarian cancer research at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI).
Since the very first event, T4T has raised over $63,000 thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members. Their fourth annual Ladies Day will be held on Saturday 18 October 2025 at Bartholomews Newcastle, bringing together 150 women in support of awareness, education, and research.
The event honours the memory of Judy Raymond, whose wish during her own battle with ovarian cancer was to see better treatments and, above all, an early detection test developed so women could be diagnosed sooner.
Funds raised go directly to the research team of Associate Professor Nikola Bowden at HMRI, whose work includes:
Testing existing chemotherapy drugs in new ways for patients resistant to treatment.
Developing diagnostic tools to determine whether a patient is responding to chemotherapy.
