We’re coming up to 5 years of Scrubba Body and as we have been nominated in the Hunter Local Business Awards, Specialised Retail Business category, we just wanted to let you know a bit about us and why we love what we do!
Scrubba Body was founded by Josh and Jase in their kitchen back in 2016, when they couldn’t find products that suited their needs and beliefs, they decided to do some research and make their own.
The 5 non negotiable factors they had both decided everything they make must include were:
The boys started with body scrub which targeted certain skin conditions that also make your skin smell and feel amazing. From there different ideas started pouring out and that’s how Scrubba Body was born! There are new products always in the pipeline, being tested on friends and family. We even have a whole new range coming out in the next week or so!
Since the days of making everything in the kitchen, the company has grown, from being online, to markets around Australia (so many markets), shopping centre pop-ups, to 3 bricks and mortar stores! Marketown in Newcastle, our first store that opened 2 weeks before COVID hit, is home base. Where we do the making, packaging and posting all off our orders. Our beautiful Westfield Kotara store opened in October of 2020 and the newest baby, our Charlestown Square Store opened last week.
With the business growing we needed some help, and in comes Brookie, our Customer Service Queen! She has been working our pop-ups and stores before anyone else, (since she was 16!) and knows everything there is to know about Scrubba Body. Joining Brookie in our stores are Chloe, Teghan, Grace, Bailey and Bec, these guys are superstars, who always have a smile on their face and will be able to answer all of your questions. Then there is me, Hayley. I’m managing the marketing, social media and digital presence. I’ve been a Scrubba Body fan since day dot, always singing it’s praises, no matter where in the world I was. When I moved back to Newcastle and started working with Scrubba Body, I had no idea how hard everyone works to get the beautiful products, I’d been using for years, made and packaged. So much time and effort goes into each batch of any of the 70-something different products, it really shows what passion can do.
